MLPPP

In a system using bandwidth on demand, with a PPP connection, sometimes a wider bandwidth is required than actually supplied. To solve this problem MultiLink PPP combines several physical channels to one logical channel, thus providing wider bandwidth. The bundled links can be different physical links, as in multiple async lines, but may also be instances of multiplexed links, such as ISDN, X.25 or Frame Relay. The links may also be of different kinds, such as pairing dialup async links with leased synchronous links. The data broadcast is divided into packets and can be sent on a number of different channels and correctly reassembled at its destination.
