Video service has been identified as a promising service for Next Generation Networks. Video service is one of the main objectives of cellular operators for upgrading their network from 2.5G to 3G and is a dominant player in the race to the triple play. Since the number of subscribers is limited, video QoS is the main factor in determining the success of next generation networks. However ensuring the video QoS of services is a compound assignment because video is a complex wideband real-time service that requires high CPU resources for encoding/decoding variety of audio + video codecs, entails audio and video synchronization and meets interoperability problems between different video servers and handsets. Video service include different applications such as video telephony, streaming (playback of video files through the network) that includes IP-TV, Gaming (interactive game played on the video stream), etc.
