X.25 is the CCITT’s recommendation for the interface between a DTE and DCE over a Public Data Network. Generally, X.25 covers layers 1 to 3 of the ISO communication model. It is a popular standard for packet switching networks such as telephone companies. The Performer supports testing and analysis of X.25. In addition the PrismLite and Prism UltraLite X.25 Analysis and Simulation package enables the analysis of up to 2 Mbps wide area networks featuring an X.25 interface between the DCE and DTE. This is achieved by monitoring the X.25 line(s) between the user and network, analyzing the data of layers 2 and 3 and displaying the results in various graphical formats. The X25 Analysis and Simulation package includes features and capabilities that provide DCE/DTE simulation, creating a valuable tool for the maintenance and troubleshooting of DTE and DCE equipment. In addition, the package enables the analysis of X.25 data over Frame Relay (FRF.3). |
